1950, Carmen Scaccio began a small, commercial contracting company named Carmen
Construction. The original business was located in Akron, Ohio. Five years later
he moved the company to Tallmadge, Ohio, where it has since remained. The company
steadily grew and became a recognized contractor throughout northeast Ohio. Carmen
Construction Co., Inc., celebrated its Golden Anniversary September 16, 2000.
Since 1950, the Tallmadge company has served the area with all types of general
construction work, including new buildings, building additions, and remodeling. Carmen
Construction Company has taken pride in its stellar record of promptly completing
all projects with quality workIn 1970, Carmen Construction
was officially incorporated. Joseph Scaccio, son of Carmen, replaced his father
as President and CEO in 1984 and has remained in that position to date. Since
1950, Carmen Construction Company has been building commercial, educational, and
industrial facilities. They have experience with additions and renovations and
have worked in the public and private sectors. They also have experience with
both general contracting and construction management. The company strives to maintain
long-standing relationships with clients, as they have with The University of
Akron, Goodyear and Lockheed Martin (50+ years). In 2003, they
received the Cascade Capital Corporate Business Growth Award, which recognizes
companies demonstrating exceptional growth. Carmen has remained a recognized contractor
in northeast Ohio and is regarded as one of the area's leading in quality and
satisfaction. Carmen Construction employees approximately 30
people. Many of the employees have been in the construction business for many
years. Some recent projects include the Tallmadge Municipal Buildings, Summit
County Mogadore Branch Library, Fairlawn Municipal Building, Lawton Street Community
Center/City of Akron, Cuyahoga Falls High School/Middle School Renovation, and
many other private projects. The Company's high standards have
