all types of general construction work, including new buildings, building additions,
and remodeling. The history behind Carmen Construction Co. dates
back to the late 1930's At that time, Carmen Scaccio, the company's founder, was
an 18-year-old living in Irondale, Ohio. When a construction company came to town
to build a new high school, Scaccio asked for a job and was hired. He worked so
hard mixing mortar that the bricklayers could not keep up with him. Carmen
Construction Company has taken pride in its stellar record of promptly completing
all projects with quality workThat strong work ethic
was a sign of things to come and has remained with Scaccio throughout the years.
In 1950 Scaccio discovered that many people wanted to hire him to complete construction
projects, so he founded Carmen Construction Co. Since then, Carmen
Construction has grown into a company that employees approximately 30 people.
Many of the employees have been in the construction business for many years. Some
recent projects include the Tallmadge Municipal Buildings, Summit County Mogadore
Branch Library, Fairlawn Municipal Building, Lawton Street Community Center/City
of Akron, Cuyahoga Falls High School/Middle School Renovation, and many other
